Ping Test to Popular Services and Cloud Regions
How far away is the internet from you? This test measures your delay to well-known services and to cloud regions on every continent, so you can see which regions are close and which are slow.
Lower is better. Under 50 ms is great, under 100 ms is good for most games and calls.

What this test measures
Web pages cannot send real pings, so this test times small HTTPS requests to public endpoints. For each service it makes one warm-up request, then five timed ones, and reports the median. The cloud regions use the public health-check address of Amazon Web Services in each region. Many online games and apps run in those same regions, so the numbers are a useful guide to where good servers are.
These are not exactly the numbers a game will show. A browser timing includes the secure connection and web overhead, so expect slightly higher figures than a game’s own ping.
How to read the delay
- Under 50 ms: great, even for fast games.
- 50 to 100 ms: good for most games, calls and browsing.
- 100 to 200 ms: noticeable in fast games, fine for most other things.
- Over 200 ms: slow. That is normal for the other side of the world.
Distance matters most: light travels through cable at a limited speed, so a region on another continent cannot be quick. If a nearby region is slow, your connection is the cause. The ping and jitter guide explains how to improve it, and internet speed for gaming covers what games need.
Choosing a game or server region
Pick the region with the lowest delay in the table. If your game lets you choose a region, the closest one usually gives the best experience. Delay that rises a lot when someone else is online may be bufferbloat, which you can check with the bufferbloat test.
About this tool
When you press the button, your browser sends small requests directly to Google, Cloudflare, Microsoft, Apple and AWS, which can see your IP address, as with any website you visit. Nothing is sent before you press it and CHECKiOX stores nothing. If a service does not answer, it is shown as no answer; some networks, VPNs and blockers stop these requests. See our privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
How do I test my ping to Google?
Press the start button above. The test times small requests to Google and other services and shows the median delay in milliseconds.
What is a good ping?
Under 50 ms is great and under 100 ms is good for most games and calls. Over 200 ms feels slow for anything interactive.
Which AWS region is closest to me?
The region with the lowest delay in the results is the closest to your connection in network terms, which is not always the closest on the map.
Why is this ping different from my game ping?
This test times web requests, which include secure connection overhead. A game's own ping measures its server directly, so it is usually a little lower.
Why did a service not answer?
Some networks, VPNs, firewalls and browser extensions block requests to other sites, and a service can be briefly unavailable. Try again, or turn off blockers for this page.
