Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CHECKiOX ("we", "us"), operated by TSQ Soft, handles when you use this website, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Information we handle

• Speed test traffic. During a test, your browser exchanges data with our server so we can measure throughput. The data is random test data; we count and time it and discard it. We do not keep or inspect it.
• IP address and server logs. Like any website, our web server and hosting provider receive your IP address, the time of your request, the page requested and your browser type. These standard logs are used to run and secure the site. We also show your IP address back to you on the test page.
• Test history. Your most recent results are saved only in your own browser (local storage). We never receive this history, and you can clear it by clearing your site data.
• Consent choice. If you answer our cookie banner, we remember your choice in your browser's local storage.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The speed test works without any cookies. If we enable analytics or advertising on this site, the following applies:

• Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how many people use the site and which pages they visit. It uses cookies or similar identifiers and is only loaded if you accept our cookie choices.
• Advertising. We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent through a consent message before using cookies for personalised advertising or analytics.

Your choices

• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• You can decline cookies in our consent message, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining does not affect the speed test.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or limit certain processing. We hold very little data about visitors, but you can make any request by emailing us.

Retention

Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operations. Everything saved in your browser stays there until you delete it. We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the request.

Children

CHECKiOX is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
